Resilience is the ability to keep on going despite the hardship and obstacles, pushing the boulder up the hill.
It can also be thought of as our capacity to bounce back from adversity, restoring some degree of normality or finding a new self even though so much has changed.
Research on resilience has pointed to a number of features that can help people be more resilient.
Let’s run through some of these coping strategies and explain more about them. We also look at why sometimes these strategies don’t work when we’re living with a long-term health condition and suggest some techniques which can help you to cope.
